'Green'- poem that goes with 'Green' wood art.

Poem:

Like a child, she must be nurtured.

Cared for until our days end.

she must forever remain

with us, her best friend.

Dress her in her green coat,

for it is bright and beautiful.

And keep her blue hat clean

because it is necessary for us too.

Like a child,

there's always something we must do.

To keep her safe, happy and alive.

because…

Lyrics

La Flamme Éphémère

Croyons en un meilleur avenir

Sans mots, il faut taire la haine

Nous sommes le mêmes les uns et les autres

Dis moi, quelle différence voit-on?

Voies la Statue de la Liberté, qui garde dans la main,

La flamme éphémère de ceux qui espèrent un meilleur avenir

C'n'est pas qu'américaine, c'est la langue du monde

On dit mon pays, ton pays,

Mais en vérité, ça veut dire…

Lady Liberty: A Green Embrace

As a burning sun fades into darkness, a light smog creeps up and blankets over the city. A brisk wind blows a piece of trash away like a wisp of smoke. The river running by, once a habitat to many creatures, has turned a murky gray-brown. I can almost see the grotesque toxins in the air I breathe. A droning, everlasting low hum in my ear reminds me how technology never sleeps in the city that never sleeps. But then I see a large green beauty. Just as the Statue of Liberty brings…

Lady Liberty and Her World

Since France offered the Statue of Liberty as a gift of friendship between nations with similar ideals, it has been obvious that the Statue of Liberty is a symbol, it has been obvious since it was erected on October 28th 1886.  More recently it has become obvious that the environment is endangered although not everyone knows about this threat. I believe that if we utilize the silent voice of…

The Statue of Liberty

For the statue of liberty activity I used many different colorful and creative scraps of fabrics and materials to create my dress! All of the materials I used were both green and recycled to form my wonderful outfit. The reason I decided to make this dress was because it sounded like a very fun activity to do. I know how to sew and creatively put these materials together. Making clothes is something I find fun and enjoyable, especially dresses. When I heard about the contest I instantly knew…
